Not only track your habits, but also reflect on your everyday life? ReflAct makes it possible! The app concept combines habit tracking with reflection. ReflAct offers a quick and easy way to get started. The app helps users to boost their own productivity and achieve their goals step by step.

Challenge

In contrast to unachievable New Year's resolutions, the application helps users to work out their goals and establish new habits based on them through regular reflection. Productivity meets self-realization - but without a toxic hustle culture.

From research and conception to strategy development to UI and UX design: we use the example of ReflAct to show how an app concept is created. The strategic focus at ReflAct is: holistic, granular and not at all stressful. The app should support, motivate and inspire!

Habit Tracking

Habit tracking helps users to form routines. This turns resolutions and wishes into habits that have a permanent place in everyday life. Our holistic approach also provides a better overview. This is because users assign their habits and goals to three categories: personal, relationships and work. Achieving something overnight is hardly possible, but step by step is much easier!

Reflection

Reflection mode offers the perfect counterpart to habit tracking, as it allows users to regularly reflect on their everyday lives in order to learn from this. What should there be more and less of in the future in each of the three areas of life? Based on these insights, ReflAct helps users to set achievable goals that can be reached through new habits.

01 | Research & Ideation

Of course, every project starts with research. Using a methodical approach, we work out the needs of the users in this phase and analyze the market and competing products. As soon as we have decided on a direction, we define and prioritize the important features. We sketch the first schematic version of all screens with wireframes. We also define how certain features work and determine how users can interact with them.

02 | Strategy & Concept

An initial idea becomes a concept and this must of course also be strategically based. Apart from strategic decisions during the conception phase, the strategy also plays a role in framework conditions such as the business model, communication and branding.

03 | Visual Design, UI & UX Design

Color transitions, geometric shapes and flowing blends form the center of the design here. These design elements are transferred to the features and wireframes. The user interface (UI) is created step by step.

At the same time, we take a good user experience (UX) into account. User journeys and user flow analyses help us to determine the most optimal use with the least amount of friction. By combining different skills and disciplines, we at ZENTRALNORDEN develop applications that are fun to use and visually pleasing.
